PJs zijn gevraagd een theater voorstelling te maken voor scholen in Amsterdam.

Naast performance en workshop zijn de PJs vanaf volgend seizoen ook live te beleven op het podium.

Zeer vereerd en met gepaste trots zullen wij ons credo van "Woorden Onthullen Werelden" verder verspreiden. Keep you posted!

PJs performed at the Burlesque style Business Event @ Theater Markant.
On behalf of the main sponsor, Rabobank, who's wish it was to have PJs look like 1930s bankers.

As we do PJs made clear (subtle, of course) who sponsored them. Writing paper in their corporate color with logo and with our black calligraphy pencils in exchange for blue ones (flown over from USA), we were ready to go.

With top hat and Rabobank tie, they entered the crowd searching for words.

In stead of checking on people's business balance and equity PJs connected people as well as business on a personal level.

From the feedback we got from event organizer, ConnActive Partners: 
"Thank you for your contribution to the event Saturday. We received many positive reactions!" we believe it was mission accomplished 
Poetry Jockeys, Words Reveal Worlds

No no we won't mention the big "C" word although even during New York Fashion week the Credit Crunch has hit hard with Goodie bags shrunk down to the size of a Tellytubby backpack. 

The PJs however stick to the big "P" word of the Positive Poetry Jockeys. 

Therefore they started a new project with talented fashion designer Thoetsie who designed for several Amsterdam Streetlab Projects. 

PJs will release a promising project where Fashion meets Poetry 
where fabric reveal words 

The premiere of their collaboration will be at the closing event of Amsterdam Wereld Boekenstad. 
To be taken place at the 'Tolhuistuin', the former Shell terrain overlooking Amsterdam CS and ‘het IJ’. 

"Working with fashion designer Thoetsie is inspiring. When we were asked by the organisation to come up with a concept it caused a problem. After just 1 brainstorm session we had so many ideas that we didn't know what to choose." According to the Poetry Jockeys. 

For the PJ's it isn't the first collaboration with Fashion. 2 years ago they worked with the Internationally renowned Bread & Butter Barcelona Fashion Fair. 
Where they started with an unexpected yet, much appreciated crash party performance that resulted into an assignment to write several lyrics for one of their CD's. Allegedly Bread & Butter wanted the PJ's to dress one of their main halls with their poetry, the PJ’s however were so booked up at the time they just couldn’t get hold of them. 

Back to Amsterdam on the closing date Sunday 20 April from to afternoon until the closing show there will be performances and interaction. 

Of course they will stay in touch with reality, so for those of you who do feel the urge to spit it all out…they have a pleasant surprise lined up.

Last friday's performance @ the Supperclub Sjiek was something different. About a week before The Supper asked us to think how we could enhance the promotion of their new CD Arrogance with a PJ performance. Well 10 minutes later we returned with a concept they couldn't refuse. 

In stead of writing ourselves we decided to let the audience participate.
The only thing we did was to come up with some initial feelings on paper and hand that out.
The crowd picked this up quickly and started to write for the person next to them and so on and so on. 
Soon we were short of pens and paper and they forgot about their expensive dinner...
Maybe soon we will be out of work :-)

For the next event @ the Supperclub this month. 
We will be doing something totally different, we still have to create. 


Words Reveal Worlds 

Yesterday the PJ's were invited to perform one of their most kept secret skills 

"writing one poem that sums it all" 

A little review of what we did:
Top International fashion designer, Business Woman of the Year 2007, best selling novelist of "Stout", Marlies Dekkers, who lets herself be inspired by Poetry, invited us to bring something to think about on their Strategic Day. 

In a beautiful Mansion somewhere in Holland we got the insides of Marlies' company 4 year strategic view.
Board, directors, management team & creatives from around the world were participating in several brainstorm sessions. 

PJs, Martijn & Rob, floated across the brain waves inhaling the vibes, concerns and questions that arose. 

And let me tell you Marlies knows how to create an event. 
At the end of the day after, just before the sparkling toast, the PJs got on stage to share their poems (in English of course). 

We understand your curiosity, but as you understand the day was confidential and like with all our poems; personal,handwritten written, glanced with a finishing touch. 

Needless to say they are now kept in her personal safe....
